Kristen Stewart Warns the World Is “Dangerously Close” to Nuclear Catastrophe

The Hollywood Reporter obtained a fundraising video in which Kristen Stewart lends her support to Paul Jay’s documentary How to Stop a Nuclear War. Stewart, who will also appear in the finished film, argues that audiences have grown so accustomed to the threat of nuclear annihilation that it scarcely intrudes on daily life — until a fresh crisis briefly snaps people awake to the danger.

The sizzle reel was sent to potential investors as producers complete the budget for the in-production documentary, which is based on Daniel Ellsberg’s book Doomsday Machine. Stewart echoes Ellsberg’s argument that the world is closer to nuclear conflict than at any point since the Cold War.
